With the greater and greater prevalence of spam blockers and email filters, email advertising has become less and less effective, yet still an important way to gain exposure for your website. Safelists, or "opt-in" lists are now the way to go to avoid the pitfalls of sending unsolicited email (like getting your server blacklisted). As you know, there are literally THOUSANDS of safelists. Mailing your ad to them on a regular basis (which, like everything you do online has to be done REPEATEDLY), is oh so time consuming! Enough to make you want to say "forget it!" But I have stumbled on to a couple of very reasonably priced services which, while still time consuming, at least put some organization into the mammoth job of emailing to safelists. They may be useful to you. They have been to me. The first (and my favorite of the two) is a company called SuccessPub. I like the web-based programs like this one because as I travel, and often work from different computers, I can still do my mailings. Everything is done online from their servers and, of the two services mentioned here, this one is the FASTEST way to blast out your ads. And the price is very reasonable. Just $34.50 for a FULL YEAR of emailing over 50 million subscribers! Click here to check out their sales page. The second service is not web-based. They give you a cool little program (via download) that you can use to browse hundreds and hundreds of lists, join them, and mail. You can even automate your mailings which is a really nice feature. The downside to this program is that you have to confirm your email address with every single list, unlike the SuccessPub program where you agree in advance to receive mail from all their list owners and so you only have to confirm ONE email address, which of course you can change at any time. This program is called SafeListBoys and it too is very reasonably priced. They offer a one month trial for just $1.99 and a monthly subscription rate of just $4.99 if you want to keep using it. You should definitely develop some type of ROUTINE that you use to send out email advertisements, as many as possible, as often as possible. These two programs can save you a lot of time for a very little bit of money. Good luck!
